The Idea That Started It All

Shervin Shaffie is a technology educator, content creator, and Microsoft employee with over two decades of experience in enterprise collaboration and AI. He is the founder of Collaboration Simplified, a platform dedicated to making Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI agents, and intelligent automation accessible to everyone — not just the experts in the room.

FROM CISCO TO MICROSOFT

Shervin's career in enterprise technology began at Cisco in 2005, where he spent 15 years as a Technical Solutions Architect focused on collaboration technologies. In customer meetings, he regularly walked through complex architectures, strategies, and technical deep dives that were genuinely useful — yet those conversations rarely made it beyond the room.

If the information was valuable and not confidential, why should only a handful of people benefit from it?

That question led him to start Collaboration Simplified in September 2020, publishing his first video — "What is Cisco Collaboration?" — as a way to share practical technical knowledge openly with anyone willing to learn.

That same year, Shervin joined Microsoft, where he continues to work today. That unique perspective on how Microsoft's technology is built, positioned, and evolving shapes everything published on this platform — bringing a level of depth and accuracy that goes beyond what's available in standard documentation.

WHAT COLLABORATION SIMPLIFIED COVERS TODAY

Since 2020, the platform has grown from a single YouTube channel into a broader ecosystem of video tutorials, podcasts, blogs, and a professional community. The focus has evolved alongside the technology — from enterprise collaboration to the tools reshaping how people work today: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI agents, and Microsoft Teams.

Every piece of content is built around the same belief that started it all: technology shouldn't require translation by insiders. It should make sense.
